I had no idea people actually used that feature.

With how awful the interface is and how it spams me with DOWNLOAD THE APP TO SEE MORE, it kinda already "blocks" it for me. Browsing via Libreddit on mobile is so much better.

I used to but the fan eventually broke. It works if I flip it upsidedown so the vents face upwards but the CPU is still hitting 90 degrees idle 💀

Thanks! My set up is a bit different however. I don't use docker nginx and I just use the native one but I do have proxy_set_header Upgrade $http_upgrade; and proxy_set_header Connection $connection_upgrade; on my nginx.conf.

I could post comments locally on my own instance. That works but I can't see comments or upvotes from other instances but I can see their posts (not all of it though). Likewise, I can see my own instance's posts from another instance but not the comments or upvotes.

My instance is also behind Cloudflare but turning off the proxy doesn't change the behaviour.

I got mine running via Docker by copying the docker-compose, nginx, and lemmy.hjson files from the lemmy-ansible repo. Everything is working so far except votes and comments from other instances. They won't sync for some reason.

Yup. As long as communities are active here.

I just got one set up last night over at ani.social (shameless plug) but federation is whack. Upvotes and comments from other instances aren't syncing properly (they don't sync at all). I don't know if it's just me (or Cloudflare?) but I saw a recent issue on it on Github.

Anyway, I think lemmy-ansible is the preferred way to get it running now. But I'm not really into the idea of an Ansible playbook and I prefer installing it myself with Docker. The current instructions for installing via Docker are broken however. Instead, I just used the docker-compose, lemmy.hjson, and nginx.conf files from the lemmy-ansible repo and set it up myself.

Everything works so far but again, federation is whack. If anyone knows how to fix it, please let me know.
