If they just say "experts," it gives the impression that there is a broad consensus in the field, which I'm not sure is the case here (cmv, I guess). If they just included that line after talking to like two people, that feels like a downgrade in quality from what I'd expect from AP.

That's kind of a weird line to include in an allegedly "straight news" article, since tons of other experts also seem to point to the sanctions as a big factor.

Example, [here].(https://globalaffairs.org/commentary-and-analysis/blogs/lifting-sanctions-could-reduce-pressure-us-border)

CAN YOU DIG IT?

I think my interpretation has some similar elements to yours so I'm posting it as a reply. I'm not particularly well-versed in Buddhism either, but I wonder if the lantern could be interpreted as an idea, a teaching, or a particular interpretation/lesson.

In this metaphor, the friend has heard a lesson/story/idea from someone else that was really helpful for him personally on the path to enlightenment. He obviously wants to share it with others because it seems really important. But while this idea resonates with him, his friend is blind to it. He's in a different place in his life, so he can't use it in the same way. He still listens to his well-meaning friend and takes it on his journey. But, because it doesn't resonate with him in the same way, he can't use it correctly. Of course a lantern would help you to be safe at night, but if you aren't in a place to use the lantern (lesson) correctly, it's useless to you, personally.

So, in that interpretation, maybe the blind man would represent someone who is not yet ready for that particular lesson? Maybe he'll carry it with him until a later time when he learns to use it in his own way. Maybe he'll learn to hear the sound of the candle so he can still use it for safety at night. Even if he never sees it.

So did you have any data to provide orrrr

Costs associated with illegal immigration aren't really all that clear cut, from what I've seen. Undocumented immigrants generate a lot of revenue and economic activity and pay a lot in taxes while not being able to use most government services.

The major drag on revenues that I was able to find is on state/local governments that fund education for undocumented children, which should probably be remedied with more federal funding to offset.

Tons of datapoints cited at the Wikipedia page on the subject

This is basically little more than a committee, they can't just create a new branch of government by fiat. It's normal for vice presidents to head "task forces" or committees when the administration wants to focus attention on a given issue.

Cf. Pence's role in the COVID task force and Space Council and Biden's role on the middle class task force during the Obama administration.

When vice presidents aren't breaking tie votes in the Senate, this kind of stuff is basically all they have to do anyway. What is it you think the VP is supposed to be spending their time doing?

This is part of her role as vice president

This post isn't even about professional level jobs, dumbass. It's explicitly about someone who can't afford a car and applied for service/labor jobs.

Which culture or religion is forcing you to eat meat when you don't want to?

In the US, the science courses for lower grades, like grades k through 6, are usually sort of like survey courses. So there might be one unit of biology, one unit of some really basic physics stuff, one about space, etc. Once you get into higher grades it will change over to a whole course on biology followed by chemistry the next year or whatever.
