I've been looking for more adjustable closure ideas (excluding zippers and buttons) and ways to reduce my fabric cutting waste. This tutorial pointed me in the right direction!

Of course, I'm very glad there is a community for it :) from my tests, it seems the salsa community only allows posts set to Spanish. Do you know if that is something you could change from your side?

Hi, thanks for making this community! I have posted a few songs from my account, which is on lemmy.world, but I don't see them show up on the original instance. I can see them from lemmy.world's view.

Do posts require approval by a mod? Or maybe federation is slow? I believe our two instances are federating.

Edit: I saw you already posted about this issue. Following reading that linked conversation, I changed the language my posts to the salsa community to Spanish, and now they appear on lemmy.blahaj.zone. In this current post's edit, I'll update the language to Undetermined to see if it will appear on your instance's version of this post.

I love that you reused the thread. I also subject myself to the pain that is delicately unpicking a garment to salvage those little scraps.

I've wanted to try adding an underarm gusset to my bodices as I think they would help with arm mobility since my current bodice and sleeve blocks fit weirdly at the hinge of my shoulder.

By the way, have you seen the community Sewing, Repairing and Reducing Waste?

I prefer ebooks for reasons others already stated, including:

  • can carry a huge collection of books in a single portable device, such as one's phone
  • can customize the text's formatting
  • can customize ereader's appearance
  • can easily save quotes

I wanted to highlight accessibility, which is most important to me. I struggle to focus while reading, and listening to a screen reader narrate a digital text while looking at the written words helps me push through. With use of a screen reader comes the ability to adjust the speed, pitch and/or voice for faster or slower reading, and it's extremely useful when there are no existing audiobooks for said material. The consistency of a synthesized voice allows me to increase the speed and still understand, while audiobooks will contain pauses and emphases at the discretion of the narrator.

In some cases, ebooks can be shared more easily with people who are not physically nearby. I also frequently use full-text search for specific terms.

What happened to the ring? Is it no longer in your possession?
