What about making it transparent?
Perhaps it would be useful if mods were able to move posts into the right place? It is not currently possible atm but this may be useful to avoid thousand of posts with "wrong community" answers only
What may this cause to a casual fedora user?

Actually I prefer it, I added some css to make it behave like this when it still worked the "old" way:
I think that this should be the default setting, most of the new users are signing up for the fediverse, not for the local community

If it's just a matter of UI have you tried customizing it with some css? There are plenty of Projects already done, just to copy in the right place, or you can try to make your own
