Definitely hasn't gone away though, same concept for directors. Oppenheimer basically sold it's tickets when it was announced just because it was Nolan, same thing for Tarrentino films
3 - Make a move about a game that already has a sequel and do it in the style of a popular TV show. Yeah, that's super original .
I dialed up the snark a little high here, but ultimately "original"/"unique" is extremely difficult to define and achieve.
