K, well the scene with drunk Bert wobbling on the edge of the coffee table makes that the best episode for me!

Memory and visual attention when you get closer to 60. You can't remember all 10 digits of a new phone number with an unfamiliar area code; often one of the 4 last numbers will end up transposed with a neighbor. Visual attention: looking on your garage shelves or cupboards for an item and not seeing it even though it's in plain sight.

Oh that's SO much easier to say!!

I have fallen and landed with my full 200 pounds on the phone held in my hand grinding across 2 feet of asphalt. The scratch on the case is barely visible.

I walk the dogs on the beach at night, dropped the phone in the surf and watched the lit screen at night in the dark washed up the beach 20 feet away from me under the wave. I'm still typing on this indestructible beast.

You will pry my xcover pro 6 with swappable battery out of my cold dead hands.

Dogwood. Hidden away under the canopy, reaching out and up to find sunshine in the PNW rain forest. Beautiful white spring flowers.

After leaving my beloved PNW when I was 12 to move to smoggy searing Los Angeles and missing the green and rain for 45 years, I'm back. We just bought a dogwood for the backyard. So excited for spring.

Yep, our Iggy ran all the way out to the back yard prancing around tail up, barking at the intruder back inside the house. The other two are sitting in bed with me with a 'wtf was that!' expression.

Yeah. I think there are two schools out there, us anxious types that have to have the room pitch black without light source anywhere or we feel like a laser is drilling into our brain, and then normal people.

THANK you! Wish I had known this app two weeks ago. Neither of my banks have virtual credit cards. The one CSR even said "That's a great idea! I'll pass that along." 🙄

Do you have any gratitudes that are in heavy rotation? My husband and me moving back to my beloved Pacific Northwest are two of my favs.

There was a post in my Lemmy feed over the last week or so that was a drawing of a she wolf in a pants suit holding a little piggy in her hands and for the life of me I can't find it now. Anyone know which community or what the search term would be?

One of mine is when I finish wrapping my hair up tightly in the towel to dry after washing, I whack the towel where it's tucked in, kind of like encouragement to stay tucked for the duration, kinda like a coach does when sending the kids onto the playing field.

Hi folks, I thought I'd create some content and share some experience and learning around any concerns I had about being childfree in my first 10 years after my tubal. I hope this can help those that are at this stage now.

I will say that 35 years after my tubal, I realized in retrospect, somewhere during that time, that I knew in my teens I didn't want kids. I did go through a period, soon after my tubal at 24, of about 10 years where a lot of my friends tried to pressure me into either spending a ton of time with their kids or even adopt, where I wondered if I really wanted kids cuz I liked babies under 6 months of age. It wasn't until I got close to someone and her newborn, where I spent plenty of time with her kid over the next 3 years and she was TOTALLY accepting of my decision and NEVER pushed an agenda. I finally realized I truly lost interest in the kid after about 6 months of age and knew I wasn't interested, not because I was pushing back against acquaintances who were pushing their own agenda in opposition to mine, but because I JUST LOST INTEREST. It took a good, secure in their parenthood, friend to let me understand there was zero interest on my part.

As it turns out what I like about babies was the oxytocin hit from carrying them around, which I learned I could get from cats and small dogs, of which I have 2 now, and they stay small forever instead of just 6 months!
