The comments point you make is a really great one. I was the same on Reddit, never engaging on something because by the time it appeared in my feed, it would be thousands of comments deep. Everything that needed to be said had been said.

But on Lemmy, it's much easier to jump in and actually have a conversation.

I switched over when it was announced Sync for Reddit was closing, but became much more active when Sync for Lemmy arrived due to it being an interface I had been familiar with for a decade. But the move came at a time where I was taking steps to reduce my empty consumption too, deleting social accounts and replacing them with books and newspaper subscriptions. The lower content count on Lemmy is perfect for that as it means I still get great stuff in my feed, but it's not really possible to scroll forever. Instead I now open a newspaper app, use Pocket to read an article I've saved or pick up my book on the Kindle app. I'm generally just consuming much better quality media due to much fewer distractions.

BBC abuses the hell out of that feature. They've pinged phones for much less than this in the past.

It's just late 80s styling. It really ages people when you look back at it, but probably didn't then.

Rumoured to have stealth mechanics, two playable characters and an unknown release date. This is a clickbaity article with literally no new information.

Ah yes, the Catholic way.

Strongly recommend this too. It's takes a minute to get used to but once you do, it feels very natural.

The article summariser is such a fantastic addition!

WTF does that have to do with this article? You went out with some people from two countries and your opinion instantly makes everyone from those countries "sick in the head"? I'm Irish and can happily tell you that you're talking shit.

I second this!

I actually use an Orbitkey holder to keep things neat and less bulky. Strongly recommend adding their multitool to that too, which I find super helpful.

I have a Secrid Miniwallet for cards and some cash, but usually I just use Google Pay so rarely even have that with me now.

There's a pretty big difference in having something on display as part of a set in a video about issues at another outlet, and calling out a link to a product to be purchased in what is supposed to be an apology video by said outlet. LMG also originally had this video monetised and had links to their store and products in the description before finally removing those. GN did none of this because they understood the seriousness of what they were doing - they even called out that the video wouldn't be monetised at the start of it.

I get the point you're trying to make, but it's a bad one.

Absolutely this. I don't mind eggs as an ingredient but straight up eating them is foul.

On the topic, can we please get some savoury brunch options which aren't completely built around poached or scrambled eggs? Sure you can remove them, but it takes away such a massive percentage of the dish. Even vegan dishes just substitute the egg for a tofu scramble 🤢

I was at the final and loved Sweden and Finland. But yeah, Belgium is a great 90s banger. I still listen to it frequently and I hope Gustaph has more on the way.
