I definitely think it will be fun but I agree that the hype isn’t quite there for me compared to the original ride (and how is Top Thrill 2 the best they could come up with after all of this time?). I’ll reserve judgment until I can ride, but I really hope the LSM launches are sufficiently forceful. While the rear spike sounds awesome, it’s lacking the big draw of gaining all of the speed in a single, powerful launch.

I believe Instagram usernames are reserved on Threads to ensure people can keep the same handle on both networks, but the users aren’t automatically signed up with a profile.

Yeah that’s true too. At least from a ticketing standpoint, Universal provides temporary locker passes in case your park ticket is on your phone (or in my case, my printed ticket got destroyed by Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls 😅).

The best setup is where the lockers are in the queue to minimize time away from phones if they are needed. That being said, I didn’t feel like I needed mine even in the longer line for the Hagrid coaster where lockers were before the queue line. Lockers also help speed up operations since you don’t have to wait for people to put items in bins.

My favorite part of Universal Orlando was that the small lockers were free for all of the rides with park admission so there was no incentive to hold onto loose articles on the ride. We don’t need the full double-sided locker experience like with Steel Vengeance or Velocicoaster, but there should be some free locker access for at least the major rides where there is a significant safety risk.

When searching for POIs (like gas) while on route, the location list should be number-coded to the map so I can see where one is without needing to tap on it and wait for the map to zoom in. Android Auto shows POIs like this and it’s easier to decipher

I wonder if this closes the trick of buying a platinum pass from Canada’s Wonderland for the exchange rate and activating at a different park first. I assume a gold pass with the add-on would first need to be used at the home park.

I’m looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. Universal Studios Hollywood really does not have the same draw for me compared to the Orlando park especially with that one also getting a Nintendo area soon. The Hollywood park definitely need this.

I sat though the Disney FastPass video recently and that was quite an interesting adventure

How intrusive is this in CarPlay? I generally don’t want to use this feature.

I still gotta get out there at some point too. Too many coasters everywhere 😅

Aftershock is especially interesting to me because it’s the one that was relocated from my home park, Six Flags Great America. I was never tall enough to ride it while it operated there (or maybe it was plagued with maintenance problems by the time I was).

I want to visit the PNW someday and go to Silverwood to finally ride a giant inverted boomerang. The national parks in Washington will keep me busy out there too.

Ah I see, I figured it had to do with height partially as well. Then I’d probably pick either of them over the wave swinger. I love looking over the surrounding area from up high while also getting a nice breeze.
