The name helps understand a bit more what it is: REmote DIctionary Server. It is essentially a dictionary (key:value store) that runs on a server and can be accessed easily and quickly by multiple applications at the same time. Because of its speed and simplicity, it is used in many different ways in various applications. It also has a lot more features than a dictionary.

Same here - it comes with Gnome distros by default so nothing to install. I keep all the default settings except for disabling the annoying bell.

There was a Sunday Perspective episode of The Cloudcast a few weeks ago about interest rates and VC funding and their effects on companies that was really interesting. Essentially, there is less "free money" these days and execs have more and more pressure to increase profitability of projects.

I don't understand the goal or value of these polls/articles. It seems like they are wrong half the time. The last one was wrong: https://www.reuters.com/markets/rates-bonds/boc-hold-rates-this-year-high-risk-least-one-more-hike-2023-06-02/

If someone can explain, that would be nice!
