I think a single post would be a good idea, as long as we're not spamming. Or if anyone's feeling ambitious and wants to make some art or memes advertising the new community.

5 is the only one I play these days, I remember really enjoying 4 as well though. Never got round to trying 6.

My first Civ was the original on floppy disk when I was a kid and had absolutely no idea what I was doing. iirc it had an anti piracy feature where every so often it would ask you a question from the manual but I didn't have the manual so I was shit out of luck. Sometimes I'd make it to one of the little cutscenes where the palace gets bigger and I'd be buzzing, that was really all I played for.

The Civilization series has consumed more hours of my life than I care to admit. I'm also fond of going back to Age of Mythology and the old Sierra game Pharaoh every few years.

I don't normally replay story focussed games, I think the only one I've completed twice is Final Fantasy 7.

I'd somehow not heard of Blood Dragon, gonna have to try that out once I'm done with FC3. Keen to try Primal at some point too, looks a bit different.

I'll keep using Reddit for as long as Reddit is Fun works, but I'll keep Lemmy installed too and browse both. Idk for sure if decentralised platforms are the future or not, but I figure every time Reddit, Twitter, YouTube etc do anything unpopular there will be new waves of migration. The biggest barrier seems to be confusion over how to get started and how instances work with each other, but if the process gets more streamlined over time I could imagine each wave of migration getting bigger.

I've been playing Far Cry 3 on the ps4 (my first Far Cry game, alternating between really enjoying it and tearing my hair out at the janky "platforming") and nearly finished Terra Nil on PC, been revisiting Frostpunk a little bit too. But mainly I'm wondering if the upcoming FF16 release will be the excuse I need to finally buy a PS5 (•̯͡. •̯͡ )‎

I'm so keen to try Timberborn! I was gonna hold off til it's out of early access but I'm kinda tempted to just dive in.
