Hmm good point, I'll check the spring. Though the negative battery terminal had no crap on it. The tight head and popping sound made me think the battery had vented some gas from a short. (Added: there may have also been a spark when oxygen got in). But I'll check further. Thanks.

Where is the removable battery? Did ANY Apple laptops have that?

No I don't think the distinction matters. Twitter sucks because it's full of Nazis. It's irrelevant that Twitter doesn't supply the Nazis itself. The culture that a platform fosters is part of the platform.

As for the visibility of the labelling on bsky, idk, I guess I'll take your word for it. It had sounded like a built in feature that was visible to everyone, but ok, maybe not.

If there's a widely used mod that makes the game worse, that's a good reason to not play the game. It doesn't matter who made the mod. Using the mod (e.g. an aim bot in a shooter game) is toxic user behavior and if the game ops tolerate it, they deserve blame too.

Tldr: Verisign, the registrar of the .com tld. They have been jacking up domain prices.

This book (free downloads available) is a good start:

The implementation details matter less than how it affects the culture.

By the way, if you want to learn about free software as a political movement, you should check into the history of the GNU project.

Nice! But Usenet is almost dead now. 30 years ago it was like Reddit without advertising and without Spez :).

I think you're doing the right thing having your own site. Lemmy has its attractions but is disappointing in some ways.

In git terms, it sounds like the Saudi delegate added some commits to HEAD. But if they really used git, that wouldn't have affected the release branch.

It's great to see you here, but you should have been around for Usenet. :)
