And you wonder why I switched to Mac last year when Win 11 was launched. I'd rather give $700 to Apple for a Mac Mini than spend $600 rebuilding my PC for an OS I don't want

All goverment shutdowns under Democratic control happened for 1 day. The Republicans caused Government shutdowns in 1995/1996 for 21 days in an attempt to cut medicare and social security, 2013 for 16 days in order to attempt to cut Obamacare and 2018/2019 for 35 days in order to build a border wall. I don't even know what the Republicans want now. They are too busy fighting for themselves. But this will backfire on them.

I used Windows since the late 90's during the DOS days. I switched to Mac last year with a Mac M1 Mini for $700 and never looked back. The Apple ecosystem works great if you have an iPhone. And the updates they make actually make sense. I lost it when Microsoft wanted me to buy new hardware that I don't need to run Windows 11 which I don't want.

I think lawmakers getting paid during a government shutdown, free healthcare, and only work half the year is more concerning. They get more breaks than I get vacation time at work.

This was more of a valid argument when Republicans were winning elections. I think we should keep the electoral college as long as there's a republican candidate that wants to overturn our democracy.

And you wonder why he never wanted to release his tax returns. Becoming President put him under the microscope and what he did after the 2020 election was by his own doing. I hope that Trump supporters stick with him if he's in prison before the 2024 election. It'll be the easiest election to win. One candidate is in prison for attempting to overturn the last election but claims he can pardon himself. The other is not. Hrmmm which one should you vote for?

I’ve been telling people for years that the entire 21st century is at risk of being a lost century. Even personally I can’t guarantee my data will be with me 20 years from now even though I back it up. If you care about a photo or document, print it and throw it it a box. As I get older I find more of an obsession with physical media from a preservation point of view. Because I know my books and pictures will be around 50 years from now. Digital files not so much.

That’s not insane it’s how people have worked since the birth of the modern office over 109 years. To think an extreme circumstance such as COVID was going to force all of these big companies to be remote forever is insane. The power would eventually go back to employers. And unfortunately not enough workers across all industries unionized so the employee power is gone again. I’m lucky I get 3 days in office and 2 days at home. Honestly I’ll take that over 5 days in office like pre-Covid

Surprised this didn’t happen before but VFX houses are overworked and under paid. It’s only a matter of time they’ll be replaced by a farm of AI computers in the studio

Not surprised by this. I worry about the next Recession and more on the recovery part. How do you add more jobs when there’s less human roles available?

Keep talking. I’m sure it’ll get him to jail quicker if he starts to leak info about the discovery and witnesses…
