FYI, “subs” are technically called “communities” on lemmy. Hence the address in the url is /c/
NATIVES DON'T LURK! Na-moist-day!
This map needs the exposure. For some reason google usually points me to a map from 2019 or so that still shows a bunch of b-cycle stations.
I think that a link to https://matrix.org/ would be a lot more appropriate in the settings than the link to element.io. I see no way for me to just "join" on element.io, but at least matrix.org explains what it is.
I think this also makes it so that this community does not show up as local for me. I think it needs to be modified to properly work. I don't have a great way to check, but I assume this looks like [email protected]@lemmy.world to sites outside of here.
I have been thinking about this more and I’m thinking that it is almost necessary. Right now lemmy.world is operated by dude in Germany. While this benevolent dude is letting us all pile in here for free could change on a whim or a personal circumstance change of that dude.
A Colorado based instance would be a great landing pad for many, and a great insurance policy for the rest of us. If another instance goes away suddenly, we would have a place to fall back to and rebuild.
I’m currently trying to go at this fediverse operation full steam. I have 3 mastodon accounts (because I didn’t understand it at first, and could only just recently get a mastodon.social account). I also have pixelfed account and obviously this lemmy.world account. For me it is not terribly difficult to manage several accounts, and the apps clearly are ready/expecting several accounts.
One issue I have is that I believe that !lemmyworld is the only default subscribed community when a new user signs up. If the intent of this community is to just talk about the instance, maybe it should not be default subscribed, or maybe it should not be the only default subscribed community. Can the initial default subscribed communities be setup to guide a new user?
I just rode my bike on the north side of the stadium because the south had construction and they have like 40 portapotties and an entrance tent structure. I assume it is related to this, but I do not know why.
I'm seeing some similar things happening in my City (Denver). They are creating a lot of neighborhood bikeways that just use existing calm residential streets. They are adding traffic circles at intersections, speed humps, and extra flashers for busy crossings. I really like the continuity shown in this video. That is the main thing currently missing in my city: you are often riding on a bike route that seems to just disappear into a stroad with just a sign telling you that there is no more bike infrastructure.
Yes, but only if your dog has had 4 4locos, and is now wearing them on his feet.
I’m not sure what you are doing exactly, but I think it is easier than that. I have just been signed in on lemmy.world, and when I browse all communities to look at other sites communities I can interact. I have been able to comment and post in communities on other sites that I am subscribed to.
I really enjoyed Tao te Ching. I loved the parables and knowing that it was an influential person trying to teach the next king to come how to be more reasonable. My favorite parable from the book is “yield and overcome”.
