I did on Friday and within 5 mins they suspended me and reverted them all. I knew they would so I didn't care - I just did it so they'd see as many unhappy users as possible.

I then deleted my account of over 10 years with over 50k reputation. Fuck stackoverflow.

Probably depends where you live. In a big city I don't think anyone would bat an eye, but in a small town in rural nowhere people would probably get upset right away.

I really like this guy's whole channel. He's sorta like Food Lab lite. The science isn't quite as hardcore, but he does a good job testing recipes and talking about technique. Definitely worth watching.
