I am also in a place that shares Father’s Day with the US but not Mother’s Day.

Where I am Mother’s Day is a month or so different I think and whenever I see loads of happy Mother’s Day posts on social media I think I’ve forgotten but then realise the posts are Americans 😂

Nice update but a few things I'm noticing.

Firstly, am I imagining things or did Memmy previously have swipe left / right interactions for upvote / downvote and reply, as these don't seem to be working for me.

Edit: ah it seems to work for comments but not posts?

Also, I'm seeing odd behaviour in the following user journey:

I opened the app and was in the Feed tab, and decided I wanted to view posts on the Memmy community, so I opened the Profile tab, and navigated to the the subscriptions page, and clicked on Memmy. I then clicked on the post I wanted to view (this User feedback thread) and nothing happened. However, when I navigated back to the Feed tab the post was open there.

That seems like strange UX to me and I'm not sure it's be design. Also, because there was apparently nothing happening whenI clicked on the post in the subscriptions tab I clicked it a few times, and this opened a whole bunch of the same post in the Feed tab so navigating back I had to work through the open instances to actually get back to the feed.

I hope I'm explaining that clearly.

Edit: I see the second issue I raised has already been mentioned in another post, apologies.

I’m on 22 so far after 6 days. I used to be on lots of subreddits but pared it right back as too many of the comments sections were toxic.

So far not had that issue here so hopefully can stay subbed to a few more communities and enjoy the experience.

Everything’s fine on my 14 pro max. Also running betas on watch, iPad and Mac and so far so good.

I’d love a TestFlight invite please. Thanks.

I use Toot! I tried pretty much every Mastodon app when I migrated and Toot! seemed to work best for me.

Yeah I’m seeing everything now. I know now that Top Day only shows posts from today ha ha.

That’s odd. I’m on Lemmy.world. Maybe it’s a bug 😄

Edit: I’m an idiot. I had Top Day set as my filter. Don’t mind me…

Once the app is ready for testing I’ll share it on TestFlight. 👍🏻

Hailing from Bexley here. The greatest of all the London boroughs 😉

I’m certainly done contributing in any way. I’ve edited my past posts and comments so they all say fuck /u/spez and will now only use Reddit as a read only resource if I can’t find the answer to a question elsewhere.

Personally I don’t like the idea.

I honestly think Lemmy should not just be a clone of Reddit (either in terms of trying to match functionality exactly or filling it up with content from Reddit).

I get where you’re coming from in terms of trying to bolster the amount of content but truly I think Lemmy will do just fine with original content.

Apart from anything else, imho the quality of posts here on Lemmy that I’ve seen so far are, generally, quite good. Reddit seems to have been going downhill and I wouldn’t be surprised if the quality on Reddit gets worse following the current issues.

As someone else mentioned, maybe an instance or community could host that content but I think it would be important that users would be able to block it if they don’t want to see it.
