As there are at the type of writing zero posts in this community I thought I might as well get the ball rolling.

I was diagnosed with UC around 10 years ago and, after my initial flare it was pretty mild. Around a year and a half ago I flared and suffered for most of that time, with the drugs I was being prescribed not really helping. Since the beginning of this year I’ve been on new meds and they finally seem to be working and I’m finally able to live more normally again.

In my spare time I’ve been working on building an iOS app that will allow IBD / IBS sufferers to keep track of their symptoms. I know there are apps that do that already but I’m hoping my app will simplify things and allow people to provide their doctors with graphs that show trends for symptoms over a period of time.

It’s a way off yet as I don’t have huge amounts of time to devote to it but I’ll get it built eventually.

Anybody else who wants to introduce themselves?

Hey welcome! Thanks for messaging. I'm surprised that you aren't able to see the other messages in the group. I know I posted least four or five messages and had several responses.

You might want to make sure that your instance isn't defederated from lemmy.world

I was diagnosed around 7 years ago, after waiting months hoping that the bleeding would just stop on its own. That first flare ended after a year on prednisone. Now I'm on Humira and Lialda , and have only had three or four smaller flares since then.

I'd love to check out your app when you are closer to completion. Thanks for messaging!

Edit: I’m an idiot. I had Top Day set as my filter. Don’t mind me…

Once the app is ready for testing I’ll share it on TestFlight. 👍🏻

Yeah, Lemmy is still clearly work in progress, but so far people for the most part have been eager and friendly here. Much different feel than the reddit side. I even invited the mods on the subreddit to be mods here, but they had no interest.

Yeah I’m seeing everything now. I know now that Top Day only shows posts from today ha ha.

Lol 😂 they really need to fix the sorting. I can't sit on hot like I used to on Reddit without seeing crazy old posts, or 1000 new ones with no comments being added on top.

Hot seems to work well on the subscribe list, but I too use the top day for the All section
