I'm turn between laughing and crying that I had to sit here a moment and decide if I was surprised or make sure it's satire. I'm not exactly convinced it's satire.

Ok, story time.
I'm a Sr swe, and because of some strange decisions by management, half my time or more is meetings where I've providing status updates on the project, or getting status updates on the project. I'm obviously expected to contribute to the project, but the only thing I get time to do is review code, test, and occasionally step in to help lesser experienced team members solve problems.
But the real problem? The project involves one of my key areas of interest in computer science, and I didn't have any involvement in designing the system. So I'm doing all of this work for a poorly designed system that I can point out all the limitations of it, can guide a work around, but because of the tech stack it literally will not be as effective as the customers dream of.
My lunch breaks and after work involve Factorio or Satisfactory where I have the power to do things right and fix when I need to. Without these games I probably would have lost my mind ages ago.
The reason I can't forget that is because there were three reasons he didn't get in the car.
- He took his position seriously and would certify the vote.
- One of his secret service personnel told him directly "Do not get in that car, Mr. Vice President."
- The secret service that showed up with the car wasn't Pence's detail, it was Trump's.
You know how there is that meme of "Epstein didn't kill himself?"
I'm 99% sure Trump had a hand in it due to him being held in a federal prison and having plenty of dirt on him.
And the other was Pence on Jan. 6th when refusing to get into the secret service car until the results were certified.
Man I'm just glad I'm not the only one seeing it.
Also I hope these people aren't skinless aliens for real id probably poop myself.

You know, until you made that peach comment I was thinking I was in the clear forever. But I got to thinking about it and these are the kind of people who would start hunting vampires and if that happens I'm really fucking screwed.
Please dont think Minnesota is a bastion of awesome based on these maps. Minnesota is doing ok, and that's about as good as one can ask for I guess.
