I've always searched for a pen that has the right feel, writes nicely, and has an ink color that is perfect. Fountain pens offer all this.
I've got pens from really cheap ones up to a nice retractable pilot. Every pen has it's advantages and quirks. My favorite changes from day to day.

It's probably sitting next to my second attempt at a bottle of nib cleaner. Tracking says in transit but getting farther away.
