Calling it Fireside Fedi, where I just talk to folks around the Fediverse and get to know them. I have Gabe Kangas first tomorrow. He's the lead Dev of Owncast. Created a community [email protected] if you're interested. Fully Fedi powered. Livestream, Voss, socials, eventually setting up Fedi audio player as well.

It gives me hope. We have an opportunity to level the playing field. So much hope that I'm actually starting a show to try to help folks get to know people behind the Fediverse! I truly believe in it and hope we can claw back the internet from the tech giants.

Excellent Point. If that's the case though, then wouldn't other countries follow suit which still limits big tech's reach and makes them less profitable and less powerful? Idk. Guess we'll see how it plays out. Either way, I'm staying as far from those ecosystems as possible to at least try to mitigate some of what they do. I'll never be totally successful, genie is put of the bottle, but we can at least attempt.

I'm on Debian 12 and I run the flatpak. If it breaks I just install Steam on the desktop until it's fixed. So they don't have to be mutually exclusive. But I haven't had to worry about the flatpak breaking in years.

I just started and fortunately had Scrubbles, because they are a bit finicky. But they're honestly really interesting and actually got me to relax more about numbers.
