October 7th, 1999. Was a miserable date. Early snow. Sucked.

I like the sentiment, but I think it's been peddled so long that I think it would take too much time to dispel. It's one of those things that I feel was said so many times over the years that even people with more sense started to believe it.

I think they're meeting people where they are, in hopes to pull some people from the other side. Because obviously the people who understand that the whole thing is BS are already voting for Harris because the alternative is insane.

For real, it's the musk's that are the dangerous ones.

Yeah, especially since the majority of imprisoned people tend to be non-white (this is an issue with our justice system, I'm absolutely not saying non-whites do more crime, only they're convicted far more often due to a racist system. A great many are innocent.) this will turn into 1 to 1 a facsimile of slavery from yesteryear. Bunch of white landowners leasing cheap labor (suspiciously predominantly non-white) from people who have no other legal options. Gross.

Right, it's especially rich because that the demographic that's overwhelmingly "Christian" despite consistently voting against policies that align with "Christ's" teachings.

Usually bs like "good Christian values", which are ultimately so anti-christian that it's almost humorous.

For guns, I've recently run into a point of view that I think is valid: the above structure (insurance/license) disproportionately favors the wealthy. Ultimately it just adds a barrier for the poor.

I fully understand that the stats show that gun control laws DO indeed decrease GUN violence. However violent crime in general doesn't really change. The ONLY statistically effective way that guarantees a reduction of violence on the whole is lifting people out of poverty. The less poor we have, the less violent crime. Social programs can lift us out of so many issues.

Unfortunately not everyone

I'd like someone to ask them their thoughts on the recent evidence that Israel was selling the weapons we've given them to Russia. So in a way, we're supporting Russia in their invasion of Ukraine at the same time we're supporting a genocide.

Somewhat bad faith, VP has almost no real power or influence on these masters. With both as potential POTUS', they should both be held to the same standard by the press.

Most illegals came in legally, and let their visa expire

That's the thing though. They know nobody would ever do this voluntarily.

Dunno what they are, now they're taking over my trash can. Have one more picture in the comments.

Tiniest little bug. I only saw 4 legs, but it probably has more. Adding more pics in the comments, can only upload one. Phone wouldn't really focus on it.

So religion is a pretty common theme in his books. Stormlight and Elantris (more for the latter) have heavy religious influence.

I'm reading Elantris now, and I can't imagine a man who understands religion as well as he does (based on his writing) believes anything about the TSCC. This thought just came to mind as he's describing how the one dude knows how to manipulate the masses, using their pride and shame to his own ends.

Anywho, just throwing that out there. 🤷

Have a great weekend, and a lovely second Saturday everyone!

I've been keeping my pebble 2 alive for a very long time. New battery a few months ago, rewiring the vibrator motor due to the wire breaking at the solder point, new 3d printed buttons.

It's been working great for a very long time. Today, the motor itself is dead, resoldering it yielded no joy.

I think I need to retire this watch. I've asked my brother if I could buy one of his (he backed all the kickstarters) that isn't working any more. I'll replace the battery in it, and get it working again.

It's so sad that these aren't made any more. No significant changes or updates in what, like 7 years, and it still functions nearly perfectly. I wish so badly that someone would pick up where they left off and manufacture some more.

Super weird, noticed it today on his right foreleg just above the elbow joint. Feels like there's something underneath, and had this chunky white protrusion. Can't find an exact match via Google. Expecting some sort of cyst or maybe a blocked gland?
