I called UPS to protest a $100 fee charged on an under-$300 item. They discounted the brokerage portion of the fee by half for me (wow, so generous), which I paid over the phone, and I requested they hold the parcel at one of their locations for me to pick up because it was a Christmas present for my housemate.
So of course they delivered it to the door, my housemate answered, the delivery person cheerfully announced what the thing was that had just arrived, and charged her the full $100 fee right there.
I spent six months contesting this double-charge and finally scraped back enough from them to constitute a proper refund for her only a few weeks ago. I talked to nine different representatives over the phone and had to explain the situation three different times to the same representative over email. UPS's indifference and incompetence is staggering.
And a seasonal one in Lord Roberts that's going these days, every Wednesday from 4-8pm. https://www.directfarmmanitoba.ca/markets/south-osborne-farmers-market/
Same here! It's a lovely pattern and the seed stitch along the edge looks great with it.
This looks amazing! And very comfortable.
Thanks! I got info on how to do the edging from these project notes: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/nasamuffin/counting-sheep-blanket I guess I should have included these things in the post, haha.
It is indeed! It's from a section of the Il Burato scarf here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/il-burato
I love that name for a white cat, chef's kiss.
Nice! I love the texture on the heel flaps.
Also there's a knitting community over at https://lemmy.world/c/knitting if you're interested.
The process for double knitting takes some getting used to, but broken down, it's basically two layers of stockinette with the wrong sides facing each other — so you do a knit in the current side's main colour, then a purl in the contrasting colour, and that's effectively one stitch!
Looking forward to it! I'm hoping to jump right in with La La Luna Sea, will just have to see what tomorrow brings.
