I wonder if calling unions socialist is a deliberate union busting tactic since socialism is a dirty word in the US.

  1. Don't make it left or right. It doesn't matter how right you are, a lot of people are going to have other ideas.

  2. Focus on immediate benefits of mitigation, and don't make it just about climate. E.g. ending car dependent design benefits drivers due to less traffic and less bad or impaired drivers.

  3. Use their own rhetoric. E.g. right wingers claim to be about small government. Cars involve a lot of government interaction with licensing, registration, taxes for roads, getting stopped by LEOs. Other transportation methods require less government.

Cops should only chase people in cars when they are an imminent threat to others, and in proportion to the threat.

If they just shot up an elementary school, then have at it, pursue until capture. Armed robbery where nobody was hurt, pursue if safe, stop when risking innocent lives.

Probably. I'm old enough to remember teenagers getting sued for using Napster, Gnutella, and others back in the 2000s. It isn't the admin or mods they need to worry about.

You don't seem to get it. It isn't the admin or mods I'd worry about. It is getting sued by one of the many media outlets whose articles you have posted in the entirety. Remember when Napster was a thing and teenagers were getting sued by RIAA?

I can't believe people are up voting that I'm not a fan of some aspects of IP law, but it has its place and isn't all bad. It protects GPL software projects, for one.

You are opening up the instance to legal trouble.

I bet you like buying X brand of something knowing what to expect. Guess what, trademark law makes that possible. Not all IP law is bad.

They'll argue with Stallman about what GNU is.

Good points. If he is in prison, he would get 25thd until he got out. So the election will be between Biden and Trump's running mate

How about Elaborate on why you are against it? If you have a really good reason, you may even win some people over to your side.

Bike infrastructure needs physical separation. Bollards separating lanes at minimum. The average Joe would be financially WAY better off just renting trucks when they need one.

I don't disagree with drivers paying damages, but I see laws like this as whack-a-mole with symptoms of the problem of car dependency. Bars and restaurants serving alcohol with car dependent design is just a bad idea. No amount of laws is going to prevent drunk drivers from killing people as long as they remain the only way to get to or from places people consume alcohol.
