@bmygsbvur Pleroma is exactly the same and no one cared in six years.

@mia @3 @AyyLMAO @jeff I believe it should already work as long as some nostrich manages to stumble upon the thread.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

@kroner @AyyLMAO It should be. Fchan posts never federated to Pleroma, for example.

@AyyLMAO >Have you heard about the ActivityPub protocol
What do you think half of the thread is discussing? My point was, different AP implementations with different purposes (in this case, Pleroma/Misskey/Mastodon/whatnot on one side, Lemmy on other) define their behavior independently. Hence the inherited mentions here and lack of them on Lemmy's side. I don't even mind it that much, it makes the network more fun.
>You know what, just forget about it. Let's not interact again.
Oh well.

@pomstan @AyyLMAO @lewdthewides In all AP impelmentations I've seen inboxes/outboxes are actor-bound if an instance-wide inbox isn't being used. There are no separate fields for inboxes in objects, so making a thread-wide inbox would require making that thread an AP actor.

@lewdthewides @AyyLMAO Just a consequence of trying to make physically incompatible discussion platforms (Reddit-lite and Twitter-lite) speak the same protocol.

@lewdthewides @AyyLMAO @maga_force @jeff Replies are clearly offset from each other by a few pixels, same as on any other site with tree comments (Reddit, HN, Habr, whatever) and Pleroma-FE's very own tree-style comment mode.
