Is there a better place to post than imgur for multiple images? I think Lemmy only supports one at a time.
I'm still in the first act because I've restarted with new characters 3 times and like to collect all the bottles and forks to sell for 1gp each :D But I will probably try to be a vampire when the time comes as I've heard.
Neat map!
Very cool work. I just saw this on my twitter feed too. The perspective use is super interesting. Reminds me of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_map_projections - Trying to find a useful way to represent something that doesn't always fit well in just one perspective.
After a dozen tries, here are the best results: https://imgur.com/a/i1xukqW
They're a little better than I expected but still not usable. It could be that the current version of Midjourney just isn't equipped for it, or I'm not prompting it well enough.
That would be nice yeah. I discussed briefly in another post, I make these with Midjourney and retouch with GIMP. Midjourney is not great with exteriors. Heck even getting this was difficult. I'll see what the best interior ship I can make with it and post here so you can see the types of results it puts out. It won't be good.
I write the flavor text. Maybe the text was bland because the ship isn't that great. It is sort of generic with no particular style i.e. race or banner.
Some of the results are really great! There are a few main issues when it comes to creating maps with it:
- The max resolution right now is 1024x1024, which is passable for a small battlemaps like random encounters, but not for larger settings
- Little control over the specifics of the map--even when given detailed prompts it won't include many.
- Many that it makes don't make sense. Roads + rivers starting/ending randomly. Too much clutter. No exits/entrances for the map.
- Usually lacks a focal point for the map. The "Vary (Region)" feature that came out recently it helpful for adding it, but even this is finnicky.
I enjoy playing around with it, but it is not like you can press a button and have a good working map by any means.
Midjourney and GIMP. It is very hit and miss and does best with natural environments. Interiors tend to be a mess. Exteriors usually require some cleanup. I post the best results out of hundreds.
