I agree but I can also ok imagine a world where the website remains similar to how it is now with 3rd party apps actually making it user friendly for the masses. Memmy already seems to be getting close to an ease of use similar to Apollo. They're also attempting to solve the issue of a very confusing onboarding process.

For like the last 5 years his strategy just seems to be to announce his crimes outloud so they don't seem like a big deal to his supporters. Then from there his supporters do the heavy lifting and claim that prosecuting him is only politically motivated so we shouldn't prosecute despite overwhelming evidence straight from the horses mouth.

I get that. But instead on Lemmy were freely giving away our data to literally anyone that ask for it. That's the downside of the federated platforms. I guess with the fediverse you're at least not tying things to your actual identity. Not sure if threads allows for anonymous accounts like Twitter.

Maybe I'm missing something, why would threads show up on Lemmy when it's more like Twitter or mastadon?

There's some tools take them easy to prep. I have a tool that's just a metal loop and it's amazing. Basically you just slice the watermelon in half then scoop out in either sphere shapes or long strips.

Except threads already has 4x more users than mastadon.

true, but reddit was not user friendly at first either. It's one of the reasons why 3rd party apps got so big. In it's current state, it will not compete with reddit. But expect it to improve overtime. Also, some apps are already solving this problem. The biggest issue is onboarding is very confusing. There needs to be a UI that just automatically suggest an instance and give you an option to change it if you're an advanced user?

Mastodon has a bigger hill to climb because twitter depends on known personalities. Joe nobody has never been focus of twitter. On reddit, nobody cares who the OP is. It's all about the content shared on the platform which by it's very nature is going to be from outside sources. Reddit eventually got its own original content, but at it's core it's a link aggregator with a nice commenting system.

Maybe they can do something similar to reddit which is a popular tab by default. Basically just all with the nsfw and fringe stuff removed.

My current fix is just subscribing to a lot of communities and using all less. The other option is to uncheck nsfw but that of course blocks non nudity stuff too.

I've been on iOS for 4 months. These are the things that make me miss android. My iphone got stolen from hand last week so I had an opportunity to go back to android (and save a ton of money) but decided to continue to ride it out on iphone for a bit. I should stop looking at android stuff so I don't get too jealous.

Is there any Foss stuff on iOS without jailbreak?

Wefwef.app might be the perfect option for you then. It's a webapp.
