I'm like "yuck". But then I'm like "huh".

It's interesting, but I would argue that suffering would be more importsnt than killing. And maybe if there was a way to measure a "suffering/price ratio" it would be definitely what I would look at before spending my money on something.

I think I have since found the way, at least on the lemmy.world website.

You need to type '!', then it will prompt you with a nice search of all the communities on the Fediverse and when you choose it, it will automatically create a markdown link with the community.

I have had this before when making posts. Try to copy with ctrl+c the content of your text and refresh with ctrl+f5. Then it's either posted or it's not. If it's not, paste the text again in your clickboard and rinse and repeat till it works.

Annoying but it's one of the quirks of Lemmy right now.

Bound question on this subject, does someone know of any Lemmy client that auto plays embedded videos?

Here's the ones I have tried that do not auto-play:

  • Jerboa
  • wefwef
  • Thunder
  • Lemmy.world website

Not sure what you mean by that, but yes markdown works just the same here than how it did in reddit.

La question est posée, à vous de juger

I really think the only thing that's missing right now in Lemmy is more gif and video content easily accessible from the feeds. I want to contribute this content, but it seems to me like the only way to do this is by sharing links to external services like YouTube, TikTok, or imgur. Is this correct? Or is there a way to upload videos directly to lemmy that can be played without clicking on links?
