In many cases like this they end up selling rights to one of the growing ad-supported streaming services, which means I personally will never watch. I had just started watching Prodigy in the gap between Picard and SNW. I think companies are being shortsighted in cutting back their catalogs in this way since it encourages people like me to cancel subscriptions between the initial broadcast of new seasons of the more popular series rather than stick around for something of perhaps secondary interest.

Pertwee was also my first Doctor but David Tennant and Peter Capaldi are tied as my favorite Doctors. I am a particular fan of the scene where Capaldi makes his entrance to a medieval axe fight by playing electric guitar atop a tank. And Tennant - well he's just David Tennant.

I am always in favor of gettin' real nerdy. This reminds me a bit of the podcast The Lazy Doctor Who, where over time (with no particular schedule) the podcasters post podcasts for every episode in order of Doctor Who. In their case they comment while rewatching the episode. A podcast is different than a community post on Lemmy. However, it might be beneficial to slow down a bit and post less frequently to give people time to watch/rewatch the episode in question as context for your posts and thus encourage more discussion among subscribers, particularly as the community hopefully grows over time.

I also cancelled my Reddit premium. I was using Apollo so the no ad thing was not a factor and I never used my tokens. But I used reddit a lot over many years and wanted to contribute. Currently I am avoiding reddit and trying out Lemmy. Will decide before Jun 30 whether to delete posts/comments/account. I have also resrrected an RSS app which I had not been using for quite a while.
