And his rhetoric around "anchor babies". Such hypocrisy.

And look at what that choice has resulted in.

Also all tourists can fuck off now, is fall, go home, beaches are closed.

Thinking of red states vs blue states is busted. Plenty of good visualizations of this over the years, but this election in particular feels really important to point out "We" did not chose this.

When I say we I mean registered US voters, but even less so citizens, and even less so again residents.

Even of the voters who did vote for the GOP candidate, who can say how many really wanted him or his policies vs they just didn't want more of the status quo Dems.

The popular vote tallies in this graphic are out of date too, He definitely didn't win in a landslide the way it can appear with red and blue maps. His win in the popular vote was also pretty small now that more votes have been counted. https://www.thenation.com/.../donald-trump-vote-margin.../

So, what if Biden used broad immunity SCOTUS granted to declare a crisis of democracy - That between massive disinformation campaigns by enemies both foreign and domestic, voter suppression, as well as many other factors, the will of the people can't be discerned from our recent presidential election. That it would be a dereliction of duty both to the people and to his oath to defend the constitution to hand over power to someone whose clear and declared intent is abuse the power of the office to fundamentally reshape or demolish our republic based on this highly suspect and incomplete result (remember, most people didn't even vote)

Here is my off the cuff proposal for what to do after that

A new election, everyone must vote. Trump and Harris on the ballot, but each major party must offer 2 candidates, and we're using Ranked Choice Voting. 1st place gets presidency, 2nd place gets VP.

Biden almost certainly won't do anything like this. He is clearly a coward with a stupid sense of optimism - a "things will be just fine, no need for any drastic measures" ever, mentality, and despite some rhetoric has shown no signs that he thinks there is anything to actually be concerned about from the party which has veered hard towards fascism. But, hey, a guy can dream.

Fun fact: Elon Musk was an illegal immigrant

The reason this is relevant is because he has spent the better part of a year complaining about “illegal immigrants” who are “invading” the country. But an old video from 2013 resurfaced on Saturday that appears to show the billionaire admitting he was at one point building his small business in the country illegally, describing it as a “gray area.”

"Musk called his immigration status a 'gray area' while discussing the 1990s."

**Edit: Here is a link to the video set to the timestamp where he discusses it.

That reminds me of the Hague Invasion Act:

The American Service-Members' Protection Act, known informally as The Hague Invasion Act, is a United States federal law described as "a bill to protect United States military personnel and other elected and appointed officials of the United States government against criminal prosecution by an international criminal court to which the United States is not party".

The Act gives the president power to use "all means necessary and appropriate to bring about the release of any U.S. or allied personnel being detained or imprisoned by, on behalf of, or at the request of the International Criminal Court".

If she's pre-op and still has functional testicles then yes, she can get a woman pregnant. I think it might depend on if they're on hormone replacement therapy but I'm nit sure.

Authorities across the United States are investigating after racist text messages – some with references to “slave catchers” and “picking cotton” reminiscent of the country’s painful and bigoted past – have been received by children, college students and working professionals from unrecognized phone numbers in the wake of the presidential election.

The NAACP president warned Thursday of possible broader implications of the hate-filled rhetoric reported in more than 20 states from New York to California, and the District of Columbia. Attorneys general of both parties are condemning the messages and vowing to root out their senders.

“The unfortunate reality of electing a president who, historically, has embraced and at times encouraged hate, is unfolding before our eyes,” NAACP CEO Derrick Johnson said. “These messages represent an alarming increase in vile and abhorrent rhetoric from racist groups across the country, who now feel emboldened to spread hate and stoke the flames of fear that many of us are feeling after Tuesday’s election results.”

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1 tbsp chili crisp

  • 4 cloves of garlic

  • 2 inches of fresh ginger

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • 1 lime

  • 6 spring onions

  • 2 tbsp miso paste

  • 3 tbsp smooth peanut butter

  • 3 tbsp tahini

  • 400ml coconut milk

  • 1 ½ liter vegetable stock

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 4 - packs ramen noodles

Tofu Crumbles

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1 block of smoked tofu

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp liquid smoke

  • 1 tsp chili oil

To Garnish

  • chili crisp

  • toasted sesame seeds

  • fresh coriander leaves

Instructions:

Prepare the ingredients

  1. Peel and grate the garlic and ginger

  2. Zest the lime and cut into 4 wedges

  3. Trim and finely slice the spring onions - separate the green and white parts

  4. Open and drain the block of tofu

Prepare the broth

  1. Warm the vegetable oil and chili crisp in the pan over medium heat

  2. Add the garlic, ginger, turmeric, lime zest and white parts of the spring onions to the pan and fry for 5 Minutes

  3. Add the miso, peanut butter, tahini to the pan and stir to combine

  4. Add the coconut milk, stir to combine and bring to a gentle simmer

  5. Pour the vegetable stock into the pan, reduce the heat and leave to simmer while you prepare the rest

Prepare the tofu crumbles

  1. Warm the vegetable oil in the frying pan over medium high heat

  2. Break the tofu into rough ½ cm pieces, add them to the pan and fry for 5-6 minutes until golden and crispy

  3. Splash the soy sauce, liquid smoke and chili oil into the pan and stir to coat the tofu pieces

  4. Turn the heat right down and leave to stay warm

Cook the noodles

  1. Open the packs of noodles and keep any flavor pouches that might have been included for another dish

  2. Turn the heat of the broth up to get the liquid bubbling

  3. Add the noodles to the pan, making sure they’re submerged and cook according to packet instructions (approx. 3-4 minutes)

Time to dress and serve

  1. Use tongs to transfer equal quantities of the noodles to serving bowls and use a ladle to spoon the broth over the noodles

  2. Drizzle over a little chili oil, sprinkle over the reserved green spring onion, some coriander leaves and a few toasted sesame seeds

  3. Top each bowl with a nice sprinkle of tofu crumble and the lime wedges and serve immediately with broth spoons and chopsticks
