If you're referring to Jeroba I felt it was too janky and started using the PWA instead. I really am looking forward to using LemmySync.
To my knowledge LJ is primarily an Android dev so that is probably where he'll prefer to put his time.

I agree on the sleep during nighttime part but we in Sweden also get very few hours of daylight during the dead of winter meaning energy production is very low and if the panels are covered in snow it's nil.
I'm all for solar but it has limitations.
