Those kinds of pranks happened in school too. That, and tape under the mouse.

Unfortuanlty if MS does it, they'll forget the time out part and we'll be the ones who have to undo it all.

Yes, that certently doesn't help, but this was a problem 30 years ago too.

Maybe we need dialog boxes to ocassionally ask to do stupid shit so people start reading them

  • "Invert colors for 5 minutes?"
  • "Make mouse gigantic for 5 min?"
  • "Turn screen upsidedown for a minute?"

Now you have to read.

Whoa slown down there bud. If history doesn't repeeat every hundred or so years, how will the children be able to learn history? Think of the children! /s

Ah yes, not reading the dialog box and getting upset when it does exactly what it said it would do.

An idea that transcends across generations.

They might not specifically software lock the drive, but I do recall somethibg about them enabling disk encryption by default. So you're data is essentially tied to the system.

https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/protect-data-on-your-mac-with-filevault-mh11785/mac It is enabled automatically, and unless you actually know to store the key somewhere you're fucked.

I know. I wrote it as a crap excuse. The SSD that stores user data is infinitly more important than RAM.

Skyrim is 12 years old...

(It will be 13 in November, a teenager...oh god, get ready for the rebellious phase.)

Edit, I did not watch the video, which is about Fallout. The meme was made for Skyrim.

Those SSD are both hardware and software locked to the mother board. Once the SSD goes, the whole machine goes. The same can be said about RAM...once that goes, the mother board does too.

Perhaps the goal is to use the SSD as a sacrifice in order to extend the life of the obviously more important RAM.

Its features are great, like any other web confrence software that does the same.

However the constant UI changes lead to a lot of issues for IT people who have re-tech the entire staff how to use it every update. For a small business thats not probably too bad. For somewhere with hundreds of employee working from home who barley know where the start menu is - that's a nightmare.

The "new" teams doesn't work with business accounts. you have to use the specific, now seperate, version for "work and school". Guess which one the everyone's existing desktop link is to? Now IT has to get everyone to use the right version of teams...an absolutely insane choice and terrible end user expirence.
