I've just tried to search for 'tank man' and also 'tiananmen square' with DuckDuckGo's image search, and both of them returned the picture we all know, that dictator Winnie the Poop doesn't wanna see...

I agree with most of it.
Maybe building a better internet means going backwards
Regarding this... In my opinion, it's been going backwards all this time. Bringing back actual useful content would be the way forward.
And it doesn't have to be all "ugly" HTML pages. The technology is there to make it look good and usable. The problem is (besides the lack of useful content), everyone is overusing those modern reactive JS frameworks, while in most cases a static HTML page would be perfectly adequate.
But yes, the main issue is, nowadays 95% of the web is just trash. And the remaining 5% is a pain in the ass to find among all these trash.
Basic cybersecurity skills, like
- don't click on random links in random emails
- identify phishing/scam emails
- use a password manager & generate long enough passwords
- know how long a safe password is
- use unique passwords everywhere
- use an ad blocker
- don't click on sketchy links
- identify sketchy links
- don't share your personal data when it's not necessary
- make offline & online backups
- change the admin and wifi passwords of your home router from the factory default
- have some sort of a firewall and antivirus software
- etc...
Man page for dummies. Nice! I like it!
I usually skip the -v, because it's much faster that way.
In my opinion this won't kill the platform. If those still using it are still there after all that happened since this clown took over, then nothing will make them leave the platform. They'll pay for it and they'll continue to enjoy it.
- not clicking on advertisements
Even if someone doesn't use an adblocker for some reason... who the fuck would click on ads?!
Exactly. They just work. I've only used PulseAudio and Pipewire recently, but both of them just worked. It was maybe 10-15 years ago, when I had troubles with sound on Linux. Or with anything at all, really.
But that's also true that I'm not trying to build my own OS by using Gentoo or Arch or Linux from Scratch. I've been using Manjaro, because it's not bloated, yet it has everything I need, and it just works.
I don't know if anyone told them already, but the trick is, make your search engine usable. Not spend billions.
As for me, I stick with DuckDuckGo, it's actually usable.
There's a place in Czechia called Mr. Dick, where you can buy penis waffles, just like these. They're also selling pussy waffles.
Then try online order & delivery. You'll lose your freakin mind!
