yeah, fuck the police.
but i'm telling you, we are looking at the symptoms instead of the disease.

the police (which we don't like and wish didn;t exist) will continue to have to do their job over and over until humans stop being shitty. what is your pat towards humans not being shitty?
agreed! but the path to not being a cockwomble aligns pretty well with the goals of a reason based, humanitarian, secular society.
if you don't agree, what's your path towards our common goal?
laws based on what? what kind of education? how do we achieve reasonable laws and enforcement?
my point is that we both advocate for humanity. the path is see towards that is a secular one. most of the obstacles to what we want are based in religion.
i get that you're not advocating for anything. that's kinda my point. you're here to complain but you offer no solutions. i don't like that.
ftr, i hate cops possibly more than you do. we're not here to argue about whether cops are good or bad. the question being begged is what are we going to do about it? so what are you going to do about it?
really just providing a bad faith answer in a bad faith argument.
let's start over. do you think a secular society is better for the modern world than a religious one?
they deserve to not be bullied by an opponent who is physically more powerful than they are. good god, dude. do i seriously have to explain this concept? there's a reason why you're not supposed to hit a woman.
yes. thank you for a more nuanced viewpoint. i'd have to agree with your assessment, even if i don't agree with the principle.
for me, living in a society requires being part of a collective (in the modern world). i prefer many of the things that the 'true libertarian' prefers, but i don't expect society to provide my selfish desires. that's why i choose rural over urban. but the suburbs are part of am urban landscape, so if someone wants to live that NIMBY life, that need to make sure their backyard is far away from the other backyards. i realize that is getting harder and harder to do, which is why i dream of a secular society where we can practice a humanitarian from of birth control, because ultimately, a healthy life just isn't possible when we are crowded into tight spaces. humans need room to breathe and express themselves.
no, it wasn't. feel free to ask me any question that would clarify my stance for you.
why use a flawed religion to criticize a flawed religion?
women aren't a fey creature that is innately good.
also, i don't see a long term solution for humanity that doesn't involve cracking a few eggs to make an omelet. it's a simple trolley dilemma.
well, one path is based on reason and logic. the other is based on fairy tales. which path is more likely to produce the best result?
