So, I skimmed it, but I haven't found the part saying that you can't take any breaks, or you'll get crazy. Can you cite those?

Hopefully you also see the similarity of baseless dooming in both instances.

People lose weight from stress? How lucky of them, I gain weight from stress. Double bad.

For completeness' sake, it also shows the recently annexed oblasts (Kherson, Zaporozhija, Donetsk, Luhansk) as Ukrainian.

Sorry for sounding harsh, but I will disregard your opinion. It kind of reminds me how, many years ago, a person warned me that I shouldn't go into software development, or I will surely go crazy in a few years (looking back, he probably suffered a burnout). Such things can happen, but they are far from being a rule.

I've been in this pattern for several years, and it works great with very few mild side effects. If I'm using it for too long in a row (week or so), it simply loses the effect and I will fall asleep after lunch (or simply be too low energy / letargic).

My strategy with modafinil is to dose on the weekdays - so 5 days in a week.

I start with a half dose (100mg) on Monday and Tuesday, basically to get a better sleep, and with the tolerance going up, I'm also upping the dose to 200mg. But there are weeks when I stay on 100mg the whole week.

On the weekend I go without modafinil. I often sleep a lot, I think the body needs a break.

The first time I tried Kratom was in 2009. It was quite expensive, I bought like 10 grams or so and first time tried only like one gram. I remember the awful bitter taste, and no good effect (likely too small dose). That discouraged me. There wasn't a lot of information about Kratom back then.

I got back to Kratom only in 2022, from researching nootropics (even though Kratom is hardly a nootropic).

I'm in Europe. In my country, Kratom is still legal, but it's still difficult to judget future development.

From what I've read, well stored Kratom doesn't go bad for years.

How much Kratom do you usually have?

Since Kratom is relatively cheap and its regulatory future is uncertain, I'm trying to stock up. Currently, I'm sitting at 4 Kg, but would like to increase that to ~10 Kg.

Such stock would last me a couple of years. I can keep consuming the oldest packages while replenishing the stock.

Buying in bulk, I'm trying to find both good price and quality, but that's not easy ...

Some time ago, the wildest kratom was all the rage on reddit with some too-good-to-believe reviews. I've wondered if they are written by shills or if they are real. I remember a long time ago there were also some instances of Kratom spiked with some other drugs, but I consider that unlikely in the case of TWK.

What do you think? Any experience?

I've been ordering from Kratom Bird in the past for their low prices, but there have been reports about their new (August) batches being bad - see e.g. https://old.reddit.com/r/kratomeu/comments/15xcnck/doubts_about_kratom_birds_quality_is_it_just_me/

It would be great if somebody has more info. I might do some test orders myself and report later ...

I'm sorry for late answer. I kinda disappeared after a hurray moment. I'm more active on my alt account, but I will take this a bit more seriously now.

To answer the question:

  • sourcing discussion is location specific - vendors in EU are of no interest for people outside of EU and it's just useless posts
  • sourcing is necessarily full of shilling, repetitive posts, hate posts. Just general low quality.

I just created https://lemmy.world/c/kratomeu for sourcing discussions in the EU. The idea is that the "kratom" community will be rather general topics and therefore higher quality, while kratomeu will be for inherently lower quality (but perhaps still useful) discussion on the sourcing within EU. I encourage somebody to create communities for sourcing within USA and elsewhere ...

China certainly isn't some innocent victim here. Their crackdown on democracy in Hong Kong, more aggressive pursuit of their frankly absurd claims in SCS, their ambassador in France calling post-Soviet countries as not being sovereign - Chinese posture certainly escalated and most of these independently of their rivalry with US.

Base S23, before that Pixel 6 Pro. Somehow I'm not satisfied and still remember my dear Huawei Mate 20 Pro which still does not seem to be bested.

I think Europeans don't understand why the recent escalation is necessary - it seems to have come from both directions (not just China) for no good reasons.

I'll start - for me, it's a social lubricant, it works basically in the same way as alcohol, but with way fewer side effects and no hangover in the next day. My alcohol consumption reduced as a result.

For this to work, it's important to not consume every day, otherwise the desired "lubricant" effects basically disappear.

I know some folks use Kratom very differently for e.g. pain management, what's your story?

Experiences, dosing, consuming styles, quitting etc.

Kratom is controversial - it has many fans, but also detractors. Both sides are welcome.

Kratom is legal in some parts of the world, but not everywhere. I'm not sure what are the legal implications/rules for the lemmy instances, so for now let's refrain from discussing vendors.

I have no strong feelings one way or the other.
