Tag yourself I’m howl
You don’t believe me that cops could have, for instance:
- killed a close friend or relative of this person
- unlawfully detained them
- sexually, physically or verbally abused them
- stolen from them, or
- framed them for a crime ?
It doesn’t take much searching to find examples of these behaviors by cops. And these are the type of events that might make someone so angry towards cops that they would write something like the original post 🤔
I would ask you to consider what GP may have experienced at the hands of law enforcement to make them feel this way. There is probably a good reason. And maybe if we knew, asking them to “chill” would seem quite inappropriate!
I posted exactly what I intended. Why?
I suggest you have a quick search for the “history of tipping”
Here’s one: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/tipping-jobs-history-slave-wage-cbsn-originals-documentary/
I wanted to highlight that quote
Yes. I’m referring to the family’s quote at the end of the piece.
Remind me why we have tipping in the US?
From that article:
"The character of Aunt Jemima is an invitation to white people to indulge in a fantasy of enslaved people — and by extension, all of Black America — as submissive, self-effacing, loyal, pacified and pacifying," Twitty wrote in a recent NBC Think essay. "It positions Black people as boxed in, prepackaged and ready to satisfy; it’s the problem of all consumption, only laced with racial overtones."
This piece is interesting but even the relatives understand the imagery to be racist.
I did a live performance of original techno music last weekend and I’m still proud of myself and how well it went!
