When I was a kid, it was extremely common advice to not buy single packs (except from reputable sources) because some people would remove all of the packs with foils in them first, then sell the remainder.

Is this practice still common?

This is the decklist that got 2nd at the Kissimmee WCQ Regional on August 19th 2023, where there were supposedly (from what I can find) as many as 600 duelists in attendance!

I like that idea — or provide them with protection, a quick play spell that prevents them from being destroyed that turn or something.

Basically everything has been power crept to heck.

(Though Ash Blossom and Joyous Spring seems to be still more popular in main)

I love this guy's YouTube channel -- he provides a by-the-numbers perspective on competitive Yugioh.

Still really cool though! With Forbidden Droplet as a board breaker, of course.

It’s a shame though, this deck isn’t actually all that budget friendly — I’d love to see a < $100 deck top a regionals sometime. I think it would be healthy for the game. This deck is affordable for competitive Yugioh, but by no means cheap.

Huge congrats to Hilario Manalo Jr. for topping with this rogue deck!!

I think the Zexal Theme is my favorite here.

Fine, you’ve convinced me, I’ll pick up a copy!!

You absolutely started a trend! That post got a lot of engagement! I thought it might be cool to repeat it as the subreddit is growing to give new users a chance to be part of the conversation, and to share their favorite card.

Oooh, now HERE’s an interesting version of the deck list: https://yugiohtopdecks.com/deck/9548 4th place at YCS LA!!!

2 TT Talents and Thrust, no Pot of Prosperity, Jack-In-The-Hand, an Upstart Goblin.

Doesn’t even main Ash Blossum & Joyous Spring. 3 Evenly Matched and 1 Raigeki on as board breakers.

Here’s another Floowandreeze deck, topped a regionals: https://yugiohtopdecks.com/deck/9732

I see no Dimension Shifter, and 2 Simorgh, Bird of Perfection. Still 3 copies of the field spell, but no Terraforming…

Still, the Hanko Chow version seems better going second perhaps, with the 3 Dark Ruler No More in main, as well as three Book of Moon. Hm. JT’s build has two Evenly Matched in main, which is also excellent for going second. The Dimension Shifters are good too, but highly matchup-dependent in my understanding.

What do you think a would be some interesting techs here? What would you instead run for a (cardboard)TCG tournament, say a YCS main event? I’m just learning the deck, and I’m especially ignorant about Masterduel.

I'm also curious, are there typically many public/side events on Day 2?

[–] fcarbone 2 points 1 year ago

Wow, I only just realized how bad the image resolution on DuelingBook is for this kind of screengrab -- I'll be sure to use something else in the future.

What interface did you use to make this list? I like this style of deck list!!

I'm gonna do one every Friday unless there are complaints/objections.
