A bit short sighted to not have Proton Pass Family plans; I have 7 other people on my password managers that share vaults; trying to bundle Pass into the Proton Family suite (mail, storage, etc.) is going to miss a decent amount of users who are only looking for a password manager.

Having grown up in the commercial tv era is why I despise ads.

Are there significant advantages to switching to zfs?

Will give it another try and see if I can replicate it; I didn’t have anything clearing storage past the typical blocking of uBlock/Brave

I have tried to use this site over the last few weeks and every time I open it, I have to relogin.

I kind of gave up after repeating it several times.

Thanks for sharing! Have been thinking of writing a script to identify active communities and based on criteria, subscribe to them on my personal instance; this will be really helpful for it!

I think it has been a great experience so far; I joined Lemmy.world after seeing it mentioned in comments on Reddit and after signing up, stopped all my usage of Reddit even before the API changes went into effect.

It took some work to find communities and block all the repost bots, as I think the bots just create spam without any user engagement.

I think some of the biggest improvements Lemmy can do now is:

  • to fix the sorting algorithms. For example so that Hot is not bringing up 3 year old posts that got one or two comments, and instead highlights current content that users are engaging on
  • maturity of mobile applications. Memmy and Mlem have seen rapid development and are becoming great apps already, but need some refining that will come with time and user feedback

There goes the argument of non technical users falling for scams. The tables have turned!

I do wonder if this would be negated by containered applications

All the docker issues have me really worried about touching the 6.12.* updates, since most of my infrastructure is in containers.

Will probably wait for a couple more minor releases before updating

Looks interesting but seems to be getting abandoned unfortunately.

What I enjoy about floccus is that there is no additional app to interact with; you just save book marks as you normally would in any browser and it auto syncs the structure of your bookmarks to other browsers, so it is always easy and familiar to get to.

If you’re looking for a bookmark sync, check out floccus, a FOSS plugin for Firefox and chromium browsers that will sync your bookmarks to a cloud storage and across your browsers.
