It feels absolutely nutty that it's gone from

  • Reddit search sucks, I literally use google to search stuff in Reddit
  • Things I've never seen: Page 2 of Google

to

  • I literally need to add reddit when I do a google search
  • I cannot find what I want after page 5

Google used to be synonymous with reliable results and Reddit as the awkward website you barely spoke about. Now you need to use reddit to find proper results because the slow bleeding that is SEO has screwed over Google.

Likewise. The Pixel 4a was peak for me because of how cheap it was, the size, the headphone jack, and back fingerprint reader. And the pixel's consistent photos.

But the Pixel 6 just feels cumbersome. The reader and double-tap in the back to pull the notification shade feels too deliberate and weighty given the size (This is supposed to be the smaller one). Compare that you could do unlock and pull the notification shade with the back reader and size made it feel great.

I've changed to Niagara launcher which has made it feel better but my next phone is definitely having a proper scanner.

okay, clearly only a switch/indie gamer but 125gb for one game? I'm sure it's for the assets but isn't this just pushing costs and resources onto the consumer?

I actually had a similar issue but I believe I got around it by listing it first into the app list THEN putting it into the folder. Let me know if that doesn't work and I'll try and recreate it and let you know what I did

Wish there was an in-built feature to block entire instances just for this case. Some of them have 30k users with only 10 active users.

I don't know the background of OP so this is just an opinion: I feel that modern UX have become so ubiquitous and streamlined for content consumption that users who aren't used to old-styled UIs see the lack of "sleek" design as lesser. It works doubly so that users aren't willing to venture outside of their ecosystems and will put up with anything regardless if it's detrimental to their experience.

Compare users of new reddit and the official app vs. users of old reddit and 3PA. I used 3PA because there wasn't an official app and RiF matched what I was used to. It's a similar phenomena to Apple users vs Windows/Android. People are just used to a streamlined sleek experience (which to be fair has it's merits) but to say it's superior or that the alternative is lesser is a large misstep in thinking.

It takes effort to go out of your comfort zone but it's saddening to see users mindlessly, for lack of a better terms, consume

100%. It feels much more natural scanning at the back while it's in my pocket. I was able to bring the notification shade by swiping down the scanner. It felt more like the device was an extension of myself rather than a cumbersome large screen. Aiming towards a smaller one-handed phone for my next everyday carry.

I really wish I knew what I did in the past to achieve this. Depression and poor eating habits?

I miss my pixel 4a everyday. one-handed, back fingerprint scanner

Are those really the peak? For each interesting series, there's an equally underwhelming series. Not hating, but there's a real reason people are hesitant/underwhelmed from the abundance of "okay-ish" MCU content

Though this post did remind of Secret Invasion so I'll check it out.

As a RIF user, I had no idea any of those existed aside from gold and plat
