I have the same reasons for using mull (Firefox fork). I love having an adblocker along side my VPN's ad block. I also hate the chromium UI/UX, mostly because the search bar is on the top of the screen.

pretty basic but BetterMC. I love how it's a vanilla+. although I do want to find a modpack that vastly changes the meta/gameplay since BetterMC doesn't fill that for me. The only other modpack I could get into were the SkyFactory modpacks, and BetterMC is brand new to me so I still have a lot to explore

Hm, I just opened it for the first time and I wrote a test note just fine. I'm on Version 1.2.1

I use the whole proton suite and love it so much. If you didn't know, depending on your subscription you also have access to premium features on SimpleLogin

It doesn't work meaning you can't get access to the app past login? it's still im beta and only Visionary and very long time Unlimited users have access for now

the biggest difference is that the 3rd party apps including Apollo typically were developed with passion whereas the official app is developed with one goal in mind: monetization. This leads to Apollo and the like having a great user experience and the official app riddled with bugs or just terrible user experience in general as long as it's good enough to get the money they want.

In the US you can typically drink from the tap but I would advise not, some areas are really bad to drink from the tap, but you should always have a filter at the very least. boiling isn't so necessary.

I once visted Austria (Innsbruck to be precise) and the water there was so incredible straight from the tap. It would be ice cold, so fresh and clean. I think they have the best water in the world there.

yes i realize that. unfortunately something like the ecodim zigbee is not an option so i will have to settle for a separate one.

if you look at the lutron aurora you will notice it technically sits on top of an existing switch, but there isnt really an EU version of that which makes sense

I'm looking into setting up a home assistant smart lighting system just like this person has although they use the Lutron Aurora dimmer which isn't made to be placed on top of EU light switches.

Is there a Dimmer switch that works for EU? I have found alternatives but they all require removal of the switch already in the wall rather than placing on top, which isn't very renter friendly

is it possible to disable live updates, where every so often posts are fetched and added to the top of my feed? I thought I saw a setting for it when I first was checking out lemmy before signing up but now I don't. I don't really like how I browse on the web app and it just floods my page with random posts occasionally. this doesn't seem to happen on the mobile app Jerboa

Does there exist a smart scale that respects privacy? perhaps it has an app that will be able to show trends and history but does all processing in app or if it does go to a server then the company can be trusted with that data?
