I've seen the negativity towards the anime stuff and I don't think it's THAT bad if the pic has characters with realistic clothes and a "street wear" vibe. As you mentioned, design starts with a drawing, but I can also see why some people would rather keep the sub-lemmy "real pics only", either way. Instead of complaining that much they could contribute 👀

I've had a few "gym-bro" friends and absolutely none of them ever shamed or made negative remarks about a fat person at the gym. Personally I feel a sense of pride when I see someone relatively unhealthy doing any kind of exercise, it takes effort when you're not used to it!
