As a dude I would offer to pay for their cab home, but someone asking for that is a yellow flag.

Asking for me to pay for a bunch of stuff, including the cab, would be a red flag. Unless I've travelled back in time to the 70's or I'm living in Saudi Arabia, paying for my date should be a nice thing to do, not an expectation.

The pixel 7 line had pretty good cameras, didn't they? Iirc it was 64MP

If you haven't tried any of the newer Samsung, you should!

I hated the bloat on my S5 (only tolerated it because of the awesome IR blaster on that phone), but the S10 was miles better. There were maybe 2 apps I had to disable, the rest could be uninstalled.

No bloat is still better than some bloat, of course, but Samsung phones are still one of the few with a triple camera setup in a small form factor. That, and the new android quick toggles are so ugly - who thought it was a good idea to hide wifi/data behind a second layer of toggles, and then make each toggle hideously big?!

while it's not a certainty in this case, heatstroke will probably be an increasingly likely cause of death in future.

A feed with 40 videos, 25 of which I’ve already watched

This is such a problem for me. There needs to be a "remove from the feed because I've already watched it, but i'm still interested in this type of content" button.

hah, this one is funny!

Also, echoing @[email protected]'s comment below (unfortunately you can't sticky comments on lemmy): comments that express hate towards any group are a violation of instance guidelines. BE NICE.

There’s a difference between a sapient creature drawing inspiration and a glorified autocomplete using copyrighted text to produce sentences which are only cogent due to substantial reliance upon those copyrighted texts.

But the AI is looking at thousands, if not millions of books, articles, comments, etc. That's what humans do as well - they draw inspiration from a variety of sources. So is sentience the distinguishing criteria for copyright? Only a being capable of original thought can create original work, and therefore anything not capable of original thought cannot create copyrighted work?

Also, irrelevant here but calling LLMs a glorified autocomplete is like calling jet engines a "glorified horse". Technically true but you're trivialising it.

I don't do subscriptions.

I also stopped buying the latest flagship android phones, and no longer upgrade my computer every few years.

I put out some bait last month to get rid of an ant problem I had in my kitchen, I guess I'm as guilty of mass murder as you are

Preferably near the French cheeses. Anyone who smells it will think the blue cheeses are especially pungent today.

For example, give them four quarters instead of one dollar.

As many people prefer not to carry around lots of loose change, they're more likely to just drop it in your tip jar.

As an added bonus, there will be less coins in the register to count at the end of the day, if that's part of your job.

Helps if you show up in worn out clothing and act like a child upon arrival.

(Meant for people in the US, of course)

Some sites offer up to 30% off.

Many of them don't change their password often.

Many workplaces offer bereavement leave for the death of a close family member, often with no proof of such events occurring.

To avoid any potential mishaps, only "kill off" relatives that have already passed.

Any other chores works as well.
