Now what about the waterfall and agile teams?

That's awesome, where did you find it?

It's just missing a sign saying "now completely wireless (until Moses returns the copper)" or something haha.

The way federation works, it only starts federating content when someone from that instance searches for the community.

This prevents instances from having to sync with an infinite number of communities that nobody is interested in.

Adding to that: there is no need to go into detail about the fediverse and how it connects to other instances and mastodon and all that.

For a newcomer, the most important thing is to get their feet wet. Introduce them to ONE instance. kbin.social and lemmy.world are my favorites to introduce to people because it's relatively easy to signup and there is a decent amount of content/activity.

Once they're comfortable poking around, that's when you start talking about instances.

If you start off by telling them to pick an instance, their eyes are going to glaze over. Pick one for them. If they really prefer another instance, great, they can create a new account when they feel strongly enough about it themselves.

I think the ideal outcome would be that Prigozhin and Putin get into protracted civil war, and then whoever came out would emerge bloody and severely weakened.

I hear there are scary, dark places where this sort of thing is still being done.

Really? From what I've seen, it becomes obvious after 3-4 back-and-forth conversations that they're bots. But this was a few months ago, so things may have changed since then.

That's logical, but it means Prigozhin didn't do a good enough job.

Basically he needed to make sure enough officers at the highest levels are protected. Then when it gets down to, say, anyone below a captain, there would be too many relatives for Putin to round up effectively.

The suburb model is an easy way to give people more land, but it is highly, highly inefficient.

I’ve heard a story that a janitor in Japan was so proud of his work on cleaning the toilet that he dares to drink from toilet.

Even if a toilet is brand new and sanitised in front of me, I would still not be in a psychological state of mind to drink from it
