Secondo me ha delle buone possibilità, c'è un buon flusso di nuovi utenti e nuove community. Da vedere se questa fiammella continuerà a bruciare e ingrandirsi anche tra qualche giorno quando (ipotizzo) Reddit riaprirà i suoi sub.
Mi chiedo se riuscirà a scalare in modo efficace, se arriveranno ancora più utenti.
E mi chiedo anche se temi come la sicurezza dei dati siano affrontati in modo efficace nel Fediverse.
In ogni caso è fantastico vedere crescere la democratizzazione del web!

With 12k users the server had to be upgraded, imagine if it was 1 million. Somebody has to pay those bills and it's yet to see how it will work with donations. So I think that this is the main challenge, not impossible at all to tackle (see Lichess or Wikipedia who live out of donations) but it's definitely interesting to see how it will work.
I think it will take time to smooth few rough edges but already now it's usable.
However I have big concerns on how this structure can scale, it already suffers with few thousands users. Plus security, privacy and sustainability of the fediverse is still a big question mark to me.
But it's exciting and I hope it will be the future of socials.
