I wondered if the prisoner's stance in the engraving was normal for a sword execution, it seemed like it would be more efficient for everyone to place your neck on a backstop like the chained log. With the backstop you wouldn't have to worry about your flopping body absorbing any of the executioner's swing energy.

So to wikipedia I went, and based on the images in that article both of the prisoners are shown either standing or kneeling rather than resting their necks on a backstop. Ouch.

I'm an Indianan because I don't want to be associated with the 5th year high school in the Southern half of our state.

The sect around me does not vote as a rule. They use voting as a threat whenever the English try to enact some rule that affects their situation.

In the past 20 years these restrictions on their "religious freedom" have included the following:

License plates and road taxes for buggies

Helmet requirements for children riding bikes on state highways.

Requiring them to clean up their horse poop scattered on public roads and waterways

Requiring their children to receive a bare minimum of education.

Great bundle to purchase if you've got young kids just getting into video games.

Hello,

I am attempting to raise as much of my family's diet on food we raise ourself on our family farm. We grow corn and if we wanted to we could store an infinite amount of ground corn that falls out of our machinery every year.

We already have chickens for eggs and meat. Space is not an issue.

What animal should we get that can be fed with corn and grass to supplement our chicken flock? I'm willing to entertain all warm blooded options.

Because "sterile" exotics often have a seed production rate at >0% in the best scenarios.
Why introduce an invasive species into the environment when there are plenty of natives that will do the trick? Stop being so lax with noxious weed contamination risks.

Hello,

I recently had a coworker mention, " You can't just smash Japanese beetles because it will only attract more through a pheromone they release when dying."

Is this actually a thing or is he misremembering some old gossip's tale?

Thanks, DrHugsyMcFur
