You just can't see any of that content from your server with no indication as to why, it's built like that to waste your time like Reddit's shadowban system. You can post in the communities of the defederated instance and it'll look fine and dandy but nothing will ever show up elsewhere.

No one cares, people can just put images in comments, that's all custom emojis are anyways, just images in comments.
