https://www.hjsstudio.com/redsocks.html It is a pattern distributed by the American Red Cross organization, looks like a magazine from 1917 - Modern Priscilla Needlework.

I just started knitting my first pair of socks after 25 years of doing other projects. Super excited to make a pair of socks from a World War One pattern.

Nifty colored yarn, think "halloween colors" (magenta/purple, slime green, black, forest green, sparkly purple threads). Might be using the wrong size needles but eh, let's go for broke!

I'm considering modding my Stardew Valley game yet again. Haven't maxed out all the things, tedium is creeping in.

1 cup sugar

1 tbsp corn syrup

1/2 tsp cream of tartar

1 egg white

1/8 tsp salt

1/4 tsp vanilla

1/3 cup water

Bring sugar, cream of tartar, salt, corn syrup, and water to a boiling point. Cook until sugar dissolves. Add to unbeaten egg white, beaten constantly with electric beater until of spreading consistency. Add vanilla.

Pineapple Bars (lemmy.world)

9 by 13 pan Crust: 1 3/4 cup oatmeal

1 1/2 cup flour

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 tsp salt

3/4 cup butter, melted

1 tsp baking powder

Bake crust 10 minutes at 350 F. Reserve part for top.

Filling:

2 1/2 cups crushed pineapple

1 cup sugar

6 tbsp cornstarch

Cook until thick and clear. Bake at 350 F for 35-40 minutes.

(Mix all ingredients in ungreased pan) 3 cups flour 1 tsp salt 2 cups water 2 cups sugar 2 tbsp vinegar 1/3 cup cocoa 3/4 cup salad oil 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp vanilla Sift ingredients together into pan. Level off with fork. Make three wells in mixture. Put oil, vinegar, and vanilla in wells. Add water and mix well with fork. Mix well but do not beat. Bake at 350 F for 35-40 minutes.

Typically served in my family with Nancy's Favorite White Frosting and rainbow sprinkles.

Hopefully this shows up okay. Local church society cookbook. I can transcribe the photos if there's interest. Favorite recipe for frosting is Nancy's Fluffy White Frosting - great with a simple chocolate cake (our family used it with a Krazy Cake, recipe forthcoming).

Looks delicious! I'll have to play around with a few different non-roma varieties next growing season.

C is for Cthulhu! A little eldritch horror never hurt anyone while awake and in a perfectly lit room.
