I can stream to my phone without premium with plex, only the downloads are linked to premium afaik
The biggest issue I have with Jellyfin is you can't hide empty shows, and I have folders for shows that have not aired yet or watched in the past

I use tasker for this, the notifications of my mail app are silent, and let tasker vibrate how I want

For podcasts I use AntennaPod and quite like it. There are some issues with the auto fetching of new episodes though and I need to refresh it manually.
The order of sorting by hot is a bit getting used to, and the reports in different communities is some getting used to also.
And seeing a lot of posts in hot without any comments
