What did you think of the heel? I like the fit and look on the pair I'm doing right now. I thought it was neat to knit. I ended up with some gaps on the sides, just grabbed a few stitches to close them after the heel.
The general measurements in the pattern for toe up didn't work for me (too long). I ended up ripping back and doing it shorter.
You can do it!! That yarn is so cool. It will be worth it to finish and wear it around. :)
I think I will make it into a little pillow ornament like in the pattern picture. It's tiny! Only 7 cm per side. I tend to get lazy at the finishing step, so we will see if I actually get it fully finished. :)
I've done the first round of cuts and already had to do a repair thread (got a little snip happy). I have terrible vision and I keep miscounting, but the fix was straightforward.
Glad you like the grime guard! I love mine. I also have sweaty hands. I think it keeps the fabric much nicer on the edges.
The bottom looks vaguely like Alabama and Georgia. Pretty sure that's not what you're making. Hmm. No real guesses from me.
Neat! I love visible mending. Did you use those stitches to cover up holes? Anything behind them like interfacing? The fishbone one reminds me of a fancy hair braid my friend used to do when we were kids.
That's going to be very cute! How do you like the grime guard so far?
I picked up an old wip (Etsy link) that I'm trying to finish. The hearts are hardanger, and I will need to cut the threads inside of them soon. I'm scared...
A little bit of 3, a lot of 4.
You and me both. I'm leaving my job in IT and taking a break for a few months. Hoping the time off will get me back in the mood to find a new position. This was my second career, not sure if I'm up for a third. :p Only two days until I'm done...
That's a very clever idea! They look super cozy. Thanks for sharing the link.
I have a set of the smaller gauge chiaogoo twist interchangables and I love them! The metal is smooth, the shape is good for me (pretty sharp and pointy), and the red cables do not kink. I pretty much only use those and hiyahiya metal double points these days.
I have friends who swear by the knitters pride/knit pro karbons, but they feel a little sticky to me. I get the same feeling from wood and bamboo needles. I knit continental. Not sure if that makes a difference.
Do you have a chance to try out the needles before you buy, or just buy a single circular as a test? I think it depends on your knitting style and the fibers you like to use.
Brain fog is the worst. :( Hope you feel better soon and get to turn the heels. That's going to be a nice pair of socks.
