Аркона (before Явь), Eluveitie (early), and Korpiklaani (early). If you expand "folk" a little more, then Finntroll and Moonsorrow!

I’ve given it about 10 listens, and it is fantastic. It has a similar style to their previous album, Храм.

Vên, Slania, and Spirit are some of my favorite folk metal albums. I was lucky enough to see them several times on tours during the Spirit/Slania years. But I really struggle to get into all their new stuff.

This is such a fantastic album!

I'm only on my second listen, but so far, it is fantastic. It has a similar style to their previous album, Храм.

If you are home recording, what software are you using?

I'm running everything on Linux with opensource, so I am using Ardour for recording and Audacity for some mixing.

Me too. Futurama is my favorite show. However, I really disliked the movies and the comedy central episodes.

Trying to make the episodes "relevant" and hitting on whatever was trendy that moment really ruined it for me. That said, some of the Comedy Central episodes had good plots (The Late Phillip J Fry, Meanwhile, Lethal Inspection, Clockwork Origin).

However, there is something off about these episodes. It is hard to describe. I'd say, it has something to do with the pacing of the show. It feels like every character is too excited, always shouting, throwing out too many jokes, and trying to be too funny. The voice acting was also generally bad, especially Fry constantly whining.

The great thing about the original series was a single plot (not an A, B and C), good timing, subtle jokes, excellent, but not in your face references, and so many amazing easter eggs, that after watching every episode literally hundreds of times, it is still funny and there are new things to find!

The original 4 seaons stay on my Jellyfin server in daily rotation. I sleep to futurama audio most nights. Every time I try one of the new episodes, I am immediately annoyed.

I am happy Futurama is coming back. It will introduce another generation to the greatest 4 seasons of tv that ever existed. But I am not getting my hopes up that I'll like the new episodes.

Fedora 38 on a Framwork laptop.

I've been running linux as my primary OS (for personal and work) since the late 90s. Windows and Mac just feel so unproductive.

I am most excited about better support for PWA (Web Apps).

As a developer, this allows me to write an application once that works well across all platforms. Plus, it allows me to distribute without having to go through the Apple Store or pay the Apple Tax.

As a user, this gives me much more control over my applications. It is much easier to block tracking scripts inside of web applications and limit permissions than it is for a native application.

Creating new communities (self.lemmyworld)

When I try to create a new community, it just spins. Looking at the websocket traffic, I see the request was sent, but the server never sends a reply.

Any recommendations? TIA

This is why open platforms like Lemmy, Mastodon and others are so important. We need to stop letting a few large, shitty companies hold everything hostage.

I had no problem clicking on the link on my iPhone. Just make sure you already have TestFlight installed.

I’ve been quite happy with postmarketos. It’s has been the smoothest distro so far.

Unciv seems to work (at least load and start). It looks like Shattered Pixel Dungeon doesn't have arm support for Linux.

Yup, I have that installed. It works pretty well. Same with Soduku and Paint Fill. Those are all fine, but I'd like some games that are more entertaining than puzzle games.

I've been using Linux daily for >25 years, but haven't been in the gaming scene for a long time (since the Loki days!)
