With eg duckstation you can overclock the emulated cpu of the ps1 and overcome performance issues which also happened on original hardware in some games. In some cases it will cause issues on its own like weird physics glitches or faster gameplay. But as far as i remember driver and driver 2 were games which profited from the "virtual" overclock with no added issues. Depending on the hardware it can be a pretty heavy hit on the performance of the real cpu though. Duckstation itself is probably also a bit more performance hungry on itself. But it might be worth a try since in the best case you just need to transfer the memory card save file and keep playing on duckstation where you left of on pcsxr.

oh boy,
what a hidden gem of a channel. sooo much too bingewatch, too.
Sean Seanson for PSX content. He does videos on obscure games. He does videos on japanese exclusives. There are huge videos where he covers every released game of certain developers like square or namco. Also some sweet music sets only with songs from playstation games.
I absolutely love his positive attitude. Great guy. Also i discovered so many cool games i otherwise would have never heard of.
They dont use torrents. Never. Any fellow german i know that got busted used a torrent. There are lawfirms specialized sending letters to torrent users. In theory you could still get in trouble with streaming and one click hosters but in practice the chances are really slim. Lets just say i never got a letter from a lawfirm since i never used a torrent.
