Agreed. This article is complaining that Harris didn't shoot everyone in the collective foot.

His brain cells don't talk to each other much do they?

Very welcome! Thanks for promoting the info. I'm sure a lot of people have the same question but haven't asked.

Here's an excellent article explaining how this would affect underrepresented groups more than others: https://www.npr.org/2024/06/11/nx-s1-4991903/voter-registration-proof-of-citizenship-requirement.

I don't miss XML, but at least it has support for comments. On the other hand, I wish whitespace in XML wasn't significant. JSON needs to die in favor of JSON 5.

Are you suggesting that poll numbers changed because some voters see Trump as more progressive than Harris?

Pragmatic isn't a point on the left-right spectrum.

I still think the core problem lies with advertising on social media, especially contextual/targeted advertising. What if we prohibited for-profit social media companies?

Countries can do a lot of things. You're discussing something that didn't happen though.

According to the article, we sanctioned Venezuela, and they ignored those sanctions to purchase and smuggle a plane from the US.

The sanctions themselves are a separate discussion, but I think a reasonable person could expect some form of consequence. To be clear, I'm not defending the sanctions. I haven't spent enough time reading about them to form an opinion.
